The Cosplay and Costuming Club at NC State (C&CC) Mini-Con is an all-volunteer, college-student-run miniature cosplay convention in Raleigh, North Carolina, at North Carolina State University, celebrating cosplay, anime, video games, local artists, and more! C&CC aims to provide attendees with a fun and satisfying experience, catering to those who have never attended a full-scale convention and/or cannot afford to do so, alongside veteran con-goers seeking a new and exciting experience.
This annual miniature convention is the primary event run by the C&CC every spring. C&CC holds weekly meetings for NC State students to learn/gain hands-on experience in sewing, prop-making, and other craftsmanship techniques. We cultivate a welcoming space that allows all members the opportunity to socialize with friends and showcase their cosplays. C&CC is run solely by a volunteer officer board consisting of a small collection of college students, approximately 8 in total.
While C&CC as a whole began in 2017, the C&CC Mini-Con dates back to 2022. Before 2024, the C&CC Mini-Con was considerably smaller in space and attendance. Only taking up three classrooms, the C&CC Mini-Con was mostly attended by club members and students of NC State, with approximately 150 attendees, including panelists and vendors. In 2024, the C&CC officer board decided to dive into expanding the Mini-Con experience around campus and the greater Raleigh area. Now taking place in Talley Student Union, the miniature convention spans nearly an entire floor of the building and sees hundreds of attendees, including university students, faculty, alumni, and residents of the greater Triangle Area!
