Want to host a panel at C&CC Mini-Con? Awesome! The content we get from attendees adds a ton to the incredible, interactive experience of the C&CC Mini-Con! We appreciate all ideas, but there is important information to know before applying to be a panelist.
To be a panelist at C&CC Mini-Con, you must submit a Panel Application and have pre-registered for C&CC Mini-Con. You must read all rules and regulations before submitting your application. While we appreciate all the submissions we receive, applying does not guarantee we will accept it. The application period for panelists opens January 22.
Panels should reflect an aspect of relevant convention topics such as cosplay, anime, manga, convention life, video games, etc. The C&CC officer board reserves the right to reject a panel if we feel the material is not on topic or is otherwise inappropriate.
You must be pre-registered for C&CC Mini-Con to apply. Your pre-registration will be verified upon submitting your application. If you are a special case, please contact us for further discussion.
Present us with enough detail to give us a clear picture of what you're planning. Be prepared to answer questions if needed.
Make sure your panel contains C&CC Mini-Con-appropriate material. Your panel should not be demeaning, rude, embarrassing, or derogatory to anyone. According to our NC State University event guidelines, your panel may contain 18+ material. However, the C&CC officer board reserves the right to reject a panel if we feel the material does not abide by its guidelines. Panel titles and descriptions should be appropriate for all ages, even if the content of the panel is not.
Notify the officer board as soon as possible if your plans or availability change after you’ve submitted your application via Discord.
Be open to communication with our panelist coordinator via Discord.
Check in with a C&CC officer at the convention before your panel. Make sure we know you’re here!
If you wish to use computers or other devices in your presentation, be prepared to set these up before beginning your panel. Note: C&CC can provide a laptop, but panel set-up time will be longer.
Panelists are not allowed to rearrange the panel tables or any equipment.
Start on time and end on time. All panels should end in enough time for you to clean up and remove your materials so the next panel can start to set up on time. Due to the limited duration of the C&CC Mini-Con, there may be no block of free time between panels. We want to accommodate as many panelists as possible! As a result, your panel will be allowed to start/end several minutes late (up to 10 minutes).
Be respectful to all C&CC officers, volunteers, other panelists, and attendees.
C&CC will notify all panelists if their panel has been accepted. We will do our best to avoid having to contact you with a schedule change, but sometimes things happen beyond our control. If we do contact you about a schedule change, we promise to be as accommodating as possible in helping you help us!
Every attempt will be made to ensure that the panelist(s) will be scheduled for their preferred time. C&CC will also attempt to avoid scheduling the panelist(s) for any major events that they may have an interest in attending, though no guarantees can be made. Please communicate with our panelist coordinator if your panel needs to be rescheduled for this reason.
C&CC will provide AV support, within reason.
C&CC will have officers &/or volunteers available at all times to help with any needs you may have (within reason). If there are disruptive attendees in your panel, please alert us so that we can remove them from the room.
