Carbon free fuels and Hydrogen Economy:
NCMLAB develops India's first indigenous AEM electrolyser technology. A CSIR funded mission project aims to develop a modular 3 kW AEM electrolyser with 500 NL/h hydrogen production capacity. It is a flagship program managed by NCMLAB at CSIR National Chemical Laboratory. Our team Indigenously development of non-precious metal based electrocatalysts, electrodes, electroactive coatings, membrane electrode assembly (MEA) and scale them up to build kW AEM scale electrolyser.

Developing nation such as India is rich in natural energy sources such as Solar, Wind and Wave from which clean energy can be harvested. The intermittent nature of these sources does not guarantee uninterrupted power. NCMLAB has been working on clean energy generation, clean energy conversions. We work on developing new nanomaterials, clean and viable methods to achieve efficient clean energy systems. This in combinations with hydrogen storage materials such as MOFs, rechargeable batteries are considered as storage solutions. We develop electrodes, electrocatalysts, electroactive materials for supercap devices.

Nanomedicine is a field developing rapidly due to huge demand for safe, effective and targeted therapy. Cancer is one such prime area. The new combination therapy modes such as chemotherapy along with alternate therapy such as photothermal therapy, hyperthermia packed in a single injectable nanoplatform is a promising field.
Our research involves developing nanohydrids and nanocomposites as multifunctional nanoplatforms that can perform effective safe, targeted, selective drug delivery along with photothermal therapy, thermal ablation etc.
