Failure to follow the UoF Policies can result in suspension or termination from North Carolina Highway Patrol. You may also have to do a training course again as this is a very serious policy.

Code 5 Stop Procedure:
Over the radio say (C5 T/S, Postal, Red Mustang, send 32s).
Vehicle layout: Primary will be parked directly behind the suspect. Secondary will be on the left(driver side) at a 45 degree angle. Third officer will be on the right(passenger side) at a 45 degree angle. If another Trooper/Officer, one will box him in, the front of his cruiser against the front of the suspects car.
Trooper Roles: The Trooper on the left side will carry lethal, he has the best line of sight to the suspect. The Trooper in the middle can have lethal or non-lethal, has a decent view of the suspect. Trooper on the right will have non-lethal, he wont have a good aim on the suspect but can be ready to tase or beanbag if the suspect tries to run.
Trooper in the middle will say commands to the suspect: “Driver, with your left hand visible, remove the key from the ignition and throw it out the window.” “Slowly with your left hand, open your vehicle door and step out facing away from the sound of my voice, keep your hands visible at all times.” “Stop, drop to your knees with your ankles crossed. Do not move or you will be met with force.”
At this point, the Trooper with the non-lethal will move in to handcuff the suspect and perform a search of the suspect while the other two Troopers hold cover.
Breaching A Home:
Should you have to breach a home for any reason or have to help SWAT, this will give you a basic rundown.
Basic Breaching Stack:
Single Stack(The team lines up in a SFL, with the breacher(pointman being up front).
Split Stack(A stack where the teams are divided even on either side of the door.)
Basic Breaching Commands:
Ready to Breach(Pointman says this) types a “?” or says “Ready To Breach”.
After pointman asks if you are ready to breach, you will respond with a “.” or say Ready.
Pointman will then signal to breach the house by saying “Breach” or using “!”.
Always remember this, when using a battering ram, one man will breach the door, then the pointman will take point into the house. The Trooper with the battering ram will then fall into the stack at the end of the SFL.
PIT Maneuvers:
When in a pursuit before performing a PIT Maneuver, you must first initiate a PIT timer of 2 minutes. Do this by going over the radio and saying (2 min PIT timer).
When you are ready to perform a PIT maneuver, try to get the suspect in a position where his driver side is facing a grassy area and not a roadway.
Once you are set up and ready, align the front left of your bumper with the back right of the suspect vehicle. Then move in and hit the back right of the suspects vehicle. This will then send the suspect out of control into the grassy area and not into the roadway.
Once the PIT is completed either radio (PIT is Successful or Not Successful).
