National Cadet Corps (NCC)
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of Government Pre-University College, Kadugodi, was established in 1994 and is one of the most active and disciplined units under the 8 Karnataka Battalion NCC, ‘B’ Group, Bengaluru. The college itself was established in 1984 and has remained committed to providing quality education and the holistic development of students.
For more than three decades, the NCC unit has been dedicated to shaping students into disciplined, responsible, and service-oriented citizens by instilling leadership qualities, national pride, and a spirit of selfless service.
The NCC Unit functions under the leadership of Lt. Manjunatha N. M., who served as the Caretaker Officer (CTO) of the unit from 2018 to 2021. Demonstrating his commitment to the National Cadet Corps and the development of cadets, he successfully completed the three-month Pre-Commission Training Course at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee, Nagpur, Maharashtra, from 26 July 2021 to 23 October 2021. Following the successful completion of the course, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant on 25 October 2021 and appointed as the Associate NCC Officer (ANO) of the unit. His dedication, leadership, and guidance continue to inspire cadets and contribute to the growth, discipline, and achievements of the NCC Unit.
With a current strength of 52 cadets, the unit maintains high standards of discipline, commitment, and excellence in all its activities.
Training & Cadet Development
The NCC training program at GPUC Kadugodi is designed to develop physically fit, confident, and socially responsible cadets. Regular activities include weekly parade and drill practice, complex drill formations, weapon handling and firing practice, map reading, obstacle and endurance training, adventure activities such as trekking and rock climbing, theory sessions on military subjects, and social service and civic awareness programs.
Cadets also gain valuable exposure by participating in various National and State-Level NCC Camps, including:

Army Attachment Camp (AAC)
Basic Mountaineering Camp (BMC)
All India Trekking Camp (AITC)
Thal Sainik Camp (TSC)

Republic Day Camp (RDC) – the most prestigious NCC camp held in New Delhi, where selected cadets represent their directorates at the national level
Events, Achievements & Contributions
The Government PU College, Kadugodi – NCC Unit actively participates in various institutional and national events, reflecting its commitment to discipline, patriotism, and service.
The unit regularly performs ceremonial duties and special drills during Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations, honours national heroes during Kargil Vijay Diwas, and proudly represented the institution in the prestigious Republic Day Parade, New Delhi (2019). The cadets also participated in the Chief Minister’s Rally in 2023 and 2025.
Apart from institutional activities, the unit contributes significantly to community development and nation-building initiatives through:

Tree plantation programs
Blood donation camps
Road safety and awareness rallies
Environmental and social welfare campaigns
Cadets of the unit have brought honour to the institution by joining the Indian Armed Forces and other distinguished fields. One of the proud alumni is currently serving in Jammu & Kashmir, continuing the legacy of dedication, discipline, and patriotism.
