Bangalore Microscopy Course is organized at the NCBS, Bangalore, India every year during September-October since 2007. BMC is taught by world leaders in biological microscopy. This course provides didactic and hands-on training in state-of-the-art optical microscopy techniques. A range of topics from basic microscopy to super-resolution imaging is covered. Research seminars detailing applications of light microscopy to address specific biological questions is also part of the program. Lectures are combined with hands-on training in a dedicated teaching laboratory equipped with many state-of-the-art microscopes. The final two days of the course give the participants an opportunity to do independent work or a mini-project. The course is intended to become a major venue for microscopy training in Asia, similar to microscopy courses at Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, USA and EMBO workshops in Europe.

The BD–NCBS Centre of Excellence (CoE) Flow Cytometry Course is an intensive three days hands-on training program jointly organized by BD Biosciences and the NCBS-CIFF. The course aims to build technical expertise and deepen scientific understanding of flow cytometry applications in life sciences research. Participants receive in-depth exposure to the principles and operation of flow cytometers, data acquisition, compensation, and analysis. The program combines theoretical lectures, live demonstrations, and guided practical sessions on BD instruments available at the CoE-CIFF.
