The NC Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship process now uses a Google Document format. The links are unique for each of the four scholarships in each of the ten districts. The links are not available until they are ready to go live in early January. Links for the scholarships will be sent to high school guidance counselors and they will send them out to students.  College Deans of Education will also receive the link for the Past State Presidents’ Scholarship which they will send out to students.

Mary Ruth Heil Excellence in Action Awards

This year chapters in Districts II, IV, VI, VIII, and X are eligible to apply for the Mary Ruth Heil Excellence in Action Awards. 

The Mary Ruth Heil Excellence in Action Award mini-grant is awarded three times annually.  The annual amount of the award is $1500 to be divided equally among three award dates (Sept. 15, 2024; Jan. 15, 2025; April 15, 2025).   The award is to provide mini-grants for enrichment activities to North Carolina Public School teachers of grades 6-12 who wish to fund a special class project in the arts or sports areas and who have a specific need for assistance.  The non-renewable mini-grant must be used within one year upon receipt.

In addition to the teacher award, there is a student mini-grant of the Mary Ruth Heil Excellence in Action Award. The annual amount for this award is also $1500 to be divided equally among the three award dates (same as teacher award dates). The award is to provide mini-grants for enrichment activities to North Carolina Public School students of grades 6-12 who demonstrate talent and interest in the arts or sports with a special need for assistance. The mini-grant may not be used to pay college expenses. The non-renewable grant must be used within one year upon receipt.
