Camping Trips
Camping is one of the main events of Cub scouting, and every year we go on at least two camping trips, one in the fall and one in the spring. This fall on October 20th-22nd, we will be Camping at Cedarville State Forest, a beautiful Maryland State Park with scenic trails and waterways. On April 26-28th, 2023, we will be returning to Tuckahoe State Park with its Birds of Prey Center, Orienteering, and Frisbee Golf Stations.
Bonus Camping Trip for returning families on September 8th-10th at Washington Monument State Park with potential visit to Civil War Reenactment.
competitive events
W hold two competitive events (we emphasize Do Your Best):
November 5 : The Raingutter Regatta where scouts build sail boats from kits and blow them down a 10 foot raingutter filled with water.
February/March 2024 TBD: The Pinewood Derby where scouts make their own cars to race down the track . We will also have a clinic where we help you get started crafting your cars. For more information on the Pinewood Derby, visit the Pack 255 Pinewood Derby page.
A Scout is Trustworthy. A scout follows the rules of the events. A Scout is Loyal. A scout cheers on the other cubs in their den and pack.
