OUR SPECIAL CHARACTER

A Message from our Religious Director

At New Brighton Catholic School we foster the Catholic faith in our students by living and learning the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. This is enhanced and enriched through the Religious Education Curriculum and our own virtues education programme Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus.

NBC developed this programme to explicitly teach virtues inherent in our Catholic faith and we have made it an integral part of our school life, in effect the essence of what our school is about. The programme is designed for the entire school community.

All aspects of the school’s life are influenced by the way we act towards each other, hence the basis is on relationships.
Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus has had a huge impact on the culture of our school. We are able to visually see, act and talk what our virtues are, thus fulfilling the purpose of our Catholic School.

I would be happy to discuss the school’s Special Character or the Religious Education Curriculum with you, or you can find helpful information in the Family/Whanau Book which explains the Religious Education programme in further detail.
