Sound installation developed for the “Sala da baleia” at the National Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Lisbon, where an exhibition of collection specimens that represented the existing biological diversity in Portugal was on display.
The objective was to bring “life” to the elements on display, contextualizing their existence through the construction of an imaginary soundscape. This travels through some of the habitats where the species existed trying to recreate the sounds of the habitats.
The sounds of animals, man and elements are part of this imaginary soundscape and intend to transport us to explore a sound dimension of the exhibition.
These sounds were mixed by Paulo Marques, with the support of Daniel Magalhães and Susana Pereira.
Authors of the recordings: Paulo Marques, Susana Pereira, Daniel Magalhães, Gianni Pavan.
