The soundscapes are a reflection of this dynamic, incorporating a signature of a place at a certain time, with natural components, such as birdsong or the wind in trees, and human components, such as a passing car or a sheep herd.
Record the soundscapes is to capture a memory for the future.
Sound is an essential component of the landscape that is often undervalued. However, you just need to imagine its absence to realize its value.
Recordings of soundscapes carry with them different dimensions, aesthetic, document biodiversity or preserve the memory of a place at a time.
Soundscape recordings retain valuable characteristics which clearly go beyond the value of observational data and carry information that can be best used if organized within a framework.
Soundscape recordings should be seen as part of a region’s scientific and cultural heritage holding information that may allow for a better understanding not only of biological processes but also of society, and the development of the urbis.
