More Natural Insomnia Remedies!

Having trouble sleeping?!?

In this article you'll learn how to make a healthy smoothie that lowers anxiety and helps you sleep better at night. Having natural remedies for insomnia as well as tools to lower stress and anxiety is something that can benefit us all so make sure you'll stay with me to the end of the post.

First make yourself a cup of chamomile tea. Make it a pretty big one.

Put the tea aside and let it brew while we go to work on the other ingredients.

-You need 1 cup of unsweetened alamond milk .

-One Ripe Banana

-One teaspoon of honey

Peel the banana and put it in the blender with the alamond milk and the honey. When the chamomile tea is brewed thoroughly add it in to the blender over the rest of the ingredients and blend well.

With this smoothie you'll get a power combination of:

  1. magnesium
  2. potassium
  3. chamomile
  4. calium
  5. seratonin
  6. tryptophan.

All proven to have relaxing effects! And the calcium from the alamond milk along with the tryptophan from the bananas helps the brain make melatonin, our sleep hormone.

Here are a few additional natural sleep remedies:

1) Valerian Root

Valerian Root is perhaps the most commonly used herbs for insomnia. It works for some and not for others (just like everything else) Like other natural insomnia remedies, you may need to take it on a regular basis for a period of time before receiving its full effects.

2) Other Common Herbs

Chamomile, Passion Flower, and Hops. Usually, these and other herbs are used in combination, or formulas, that you can find at your local health food store. Sold as tinctures, capsules, and teas. Try different formulas until you find one that works for you.

3) Kava Root

Kava is an herb that is used ceremonially in the South Sea Islands. It’s especially good for anxiety-related insomnia. If you’re lucky enough to visit the islands you may find yourself being welcomed with a thick liquid in a coconut shell. Innocent enough as it creates a relaxed and possibly euphoric sensation. But done in excess as it often is there, it can be hard on the liver. Thus, the FDA has put out a warning regarding its overuse.

4) Relaxation Techniques

Both yoga and meditation can help tremendously with relieving stress and insomnia. Using Meditation or Relaxation Audios to help you unwind your stress during the day as well as help you fall asleep at night can be very effective. These can both initially help you fall asleep as well as, over time, retrain your mind to fall asleep on its own.

So there you have it. These tips works for some and we hope you find them useful. We do know, however, that some people have a more stubborn form of stress and insomnia and...
