PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: Ancestor of the Sargoth family was Maharaja Bijay Singh of Maroth, present day Nawa, Kuchaman, Rewasa and Sambhar region of Rajasthan popularly known as Gaudati. His son Thakur Padam Singh Bijaysinghot was granted Sargoth(#1) estate in Maroth pargana. Sargoth is site of an ancient fort of Saharkot town (Shaharkot) which was earlier in possession of the Gaur Rajputs. The Sargot Fort is connected to the town of Padampura 4 kms across jungle via a secret tunnel. The Thikanedar was a Second Class Jagirdar authorized to try civil suits not exceeding Rs. 500 in value and to pass a sentence of three months imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 150, and in default, one and a half months jail.
