PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The founder of Thikana Bagru or Bagroo, which is the head seat of Chatrabhujot sept of Rajawat subclan of Kachwaha dynasty, was Prince Chatrabhuj, a younger son of Raja Prithvi Raj I of Amber 1488/1528, and his wife, Rani Bala Bai [Apoorva Devi] of Bikaner. The principality has six sub-fiefs, and the total amount held by the family is Rs. 1 lac. The place is famous for its dyed and stamped chintz, but the industry has suffered owing to cheap foreign imitations. The estate is situated 18 miles to the south-west of Jaipur city. It is the residence of a thakur, who serves the Jaipur Darbar with fourteen horsemen but pays no tribute. The Chief sits in the first seat to the left of the Maharaja of Jaipur in Darbar. When the rulers of Amer and Jaipur visited any place outside their capital, then the Thakur of Bagru used to stay in the Palaces as the incharge. Amongst the chatrabhujots Tazim was enjoyed by Padam Singh Bagru and Jail Singh Raholi during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Adhiraj Shri CHATRABHUJ KACHWAHA, Thakur of Bagru, son of Raja Prithviraj I of Amber and Rani Bala Bai of Bikaner, received the jagir of Bagru in Jaipur, ancestor of the members of Chaturbhujot clan, married and had issue, two sons.

Rani Kesar Kanwar, married Raja Sanwaldas Mertiya of Pundlota (Merta), and had issue, two sons.
Adhiraj Shri PADAM SINGH, Thakur of Bagru, he was deputed at Agra in V.S. 1786 but did not report there, and his jagir was confiscated. He participated in the battle of Khori V.S. 1795 Falgun Sudi 10. He allied with the Jaipur Ruler and died in battle near Agra.
Thakur Gulab Singh (qv)
Adhiraj Shri GULAB SINGH, Thakur of Bagru, he was made the Hakim of Topkhana of the State V.S. 1815 Jest Sudi 12. Many of his kins died in battle of Kakor on V.S. 1816 Mingsar Sudi 14, and he received 88 Ras of ghora (horses), 5 Ras of hathi (elephants), 3 Ras of palki (palanquin) and various honours; during the reign of Sawai Madho Singh he died defending Ranthambore Fort and his heir received jagir worth 10,000 (Dams or Rupees?).

Adhiraj Shri SANWAT SINGH II, Thakur of Bagru, he was a leading and powerful Jaipur Noble, Member of Rajya Parishad of Jaipur State; participated in Chitral and Afghan wars.
Kunwar Prithvi Singh [Kuar Prithi Sing] (eldest son), died in lifetime of his father. He was one of the earliest, and most distinguished students at the Mayo College at Ajmer, where he acquired and assimilated much of a liberal education both Indian and English.

Adhiraj Shri JASWANT SINGH, Thakur Sahib of Bagru 1906/1934, succeeded to the gadi and his grandfather's estate in 1906 A.D., Judge of Appellate Court. He died July 1934.

Kunwar Himmat Singh Rajawat of Mahla in Jaipur, married Rajkumari Suman Kumari, daughter of Maharaj Vikram Singh of Raoti, married Kumari Hemant Hada of Thikarda in Bundi, and has issue, one son and one daughter.
