In the spring of 2026, I made a decision to alter the program. Rather than creating new nations each and every year, starting in the fall there would be one enduring nation that each new semester students would assume control of. This would expediate the "nation creation" timeline and get my classes rolling right away.
In order to reward long-time students of my classes as well as create a kind of "mythology" of this new nation, I made it a unification of the six previous nations (see below), and created a map to showcase the new nation (complete with former capital cities!) Rather than hold a "voteoff", I instead chose a regal-sounding name that meant "truth".
Aelethia is the culmination of my work with NationStates. All information will now be stored in the factbook, and students will feel part of a legacy, with the power to steer this nation with their choices.
Between 2023 and 2026, each semester I created a nation with my classes and they all take part in decisions through discussions in each class. I also created a companion website for many of them, logging each decision and the changes that came with it.
Click on the banners below to visit the companion websites, or visit NationStates and search for these nations - some of them might still be there.

Spring 2026
Before 2023, I used NationStates in two different classrooms. These two nations played pivotal roles in developing my practice with NationStates. They have no companion websites, but they may still be active on NationStates. (No promises, though.)
