~Information from the Weekly Meeting
A change from 3 different types of tactical contact to now 2 different types of tactical contact.
Low Speed Tactical Contact can be done at speeds 0-100, Low Speed Tactical Contact also contains the old semi-offroad Tactical contact (document below).
High Speed Tactical Contact can be done at speeds 100-200 and only ON ROAD.
There's also been a change to who can Authorise Tactical Contact, see the updated diagram below.
There has also been an update on when to Authorise High Speed Tactical Contact: May ONLY be Authorised If in a pursuit for 5 minutes or longer with a valid reason to Authorise High Speed Measures.
Reasons can include, but are not limited to; Suspect has killed an officer, the Suspect has rammed and harmed officers multiple times, suspect has gone off-road for a longer amount of time.
A small clarification on how vehicles should proceed within pursuits.
A pursuit should only consist of 5 Emergency Vehicles for Each Vehicle that's Being Chased - it's down to each and everyone of you to make sure that there aren't more than 5 vehicles per pursuit and if there is its down to all of you to make sure some back off the pursuit.
The ONLY time there should be more than 5 Emergency Vehicles is when authorised by a member of Bronze Command+
If you are in a pursuit and another officer is in front of you, then you don't need to race against that officer to be primary.
NO unneeded overtaking.
Failure to adhere to any changes or clarifications above may lead to punishments being issued. If you have any questions about this change please use the │MPS QNA channel
