When searching for room furniture, I soon realized that finding exactly what I needed was either impossible or very expensive. With that in mind I set about designing a pair of desks for my room; a computer desk and a printer desk.
This page details the design of the computer desk where I do most of my school work. The page on the printer desk can be found here, or through the 'Projects' drop down above.

The desk needed to fit properly into the corner of a room. I wanted an L shape so as to have space for a computer, papers, and projects.
There are a few tools (such as calipers) that I use often and find inconvenient to put away after every use. Because of this, I wanted pegboard for mounting tools to.
In addition to pegboard mounting locations, I wanted space available for being able to screw other accessories into the desk.
Since I would have to spend a lot of time at this desk, I needed to ensure that the final height of the desk was properly fitted to my size.
Building both the computer desk as well as the printer desk took approximately 4 hours. Both were assembled by using a set of drawings produced in SolidWorks as well as a cut list from here.
There were no issues with the building and the desks went together well.
