Through a grant opportunity, High Point University has been fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with Okorie "OkCello" Johnson. For me specifically, I was able to write a one-minute piece for a study designed to help researchers understand how humans interpret emotions. My emotion was inspiration, and I tried to capture the process of an idea coming to fruition throughout the course of the piece.
You can listen to the piece here: InspirationÂ
In an assignment for an education class at HPU, I was tasked to create a short video with five inspirational quotes that I could use in a future classroom of mine. In addition to adding background graphics, transitions, and voiceovers, the assignment also called for music to be added in the background. Since I was already working on inspirational music for the research project, I decided to use the same piece in my video as well. Music is great mnemonic device, so I hope that by putting the inspirational music in the background of the quotes, those who watch the video and hear the quotes will be more likely to remember and apply the quotes to their daily lives.
