Hello! My name is Natalie Concepcion, and I am a senior at Florida International University (FIU) and a member of the university’s Honors College. My academic journey encompasses a double major in Political Science and International Relations, coupled with a passion for human rights, international law, and environmental policy.
I was born and raised in Miami to Cuban-American immigrants. For this reason, my heritage deeply influences my perspectives and interests. Growing up in a multicultural environment like Miami has instilled in me a profound appreciation for diversity and a keen awareness of global issues.
It is my goal to advocate on behalf of marginalized communities in legal and legislative spaces. In particular, I am focused on how members of the LGBTQ+ community are influenced by harmful legislation. Through my coursework, internships, and extracurricular activities, I have honed my research, communication, and leadership skills, preparing me to make meaningful contributions to this field. As I approach graduation, I am eager to embark on a career where I can actively engage in shaping policies that promote justice, equality, and sustainability on both national and international levels.
In the future, I hope to become an attorney, and I plan to attend law school after taking a gap year. During my gap year, I plan to work towards gaining experience in the legal field while simultaneously studying for the LSAT. Outside of my professional interests, my hobbies include photography, graphic design, watching Women's soccer, swimming, and hiking!
