The first clay project that we were assigned this year was to create a trivet with negative space. I do not like using negative space in projects, so whenever it is assigned in a project I always have difficulty coming up with ideas.  It took a while, but I am so happy with how this project turned out. I made my trivet out of studio clay and glazed it with underglaze.
