Welcome to my Portfolio!  Salvete V'Omnes!

Collaborative efforts in partnerships, small or large, and sharing that effort beyond the classroom uniquely builds knowledge and skills, creates confidence in the quality of the outcome or product, and enhances interpersonal communication skills whether they are part of a lesson plan for students or a professional development for adults.  I made this site to share what I have made and to collaborate with others.

Here you will find information about me and samples of secondary education, adult education, instructional goals, and ideas on the educational process in relation to models and in practice.

About  me

Infusing learning experiences with technology inspires me, and I intentionally blend instructional styles for the benefit of my students. The study of emerging technologies motivated me to dig deep and develop the expertise that has gained me recognition in my district and at educational conferences. Due to the historical lack of engaging, interactive Latin materials, I have always created my own materials, sought out shared ideas that could be adapted, and established collaborative connections with master teachers from diverse disciplines.

Sometimes, you need to hear the story before you are ready to learn. Sometimes, you just want to get to the recipe without having to read a blog first. To respect both, there are a short selection of instructional samples below for a quick look, and detailed instructional samples of both adult and secondary education are on other pages. If my portfolio can be a resource for you, then please use it in whatever way or sequence that works best for you.

Self-paced Learning Module

I am proud to say that innovation is expected and valued at Westlake High School where I have taught for 15 years. I am part of the 6th cohort for the Eanes Institute of Excellence, and I have almost finished working toward a new certification for Principal as an Instructional Leader for the state of Texas. In sponsoring a state and national Junior Classical League Latin Club, I also extended my community of colleagues and resources to include an enthusiastic and supportive network from all over Texas and the US. As a PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator, now renamed All Star, I have had the pleasure of learning from and working with awesome people who run the gamut from K-12 Educators to Professors to the VP of PBS Texas. In the Apple Learning Coach Program, I worked and created with a network of teachers, librarians, administrators, educational technologists, and instructional coaches to improve my coaching skills and earn a certification from Apple. A passion for instructional excellence connects us all, and I have benefited from the experiences and perspectives of so many people with diverse skill sets and industries.

The skill sets I have developed as a teacher are applicable to every profession, so I hope that my resources and the information on my site might benefit anyone who clicks through it.
