Activism

One of an architect's most important jobs is to design spaces with people and the environment at the core. I think architects should get more involved with activism, especially environmentally. We have a duty to both the Earth and the people who live here!

This was a sapling I had planted on our college campus. It was one of many eco-conscious initiatives I worked with a team of students to bring to our campuses. We were able to bring a Green New Deal equivalent to our district.
I was able to introduce Vice President Biden during his visit to our campus. My team and I were very excited to be a part of an important opportunity.
This was a Black Friday protest at the Santa Monica Promenade. We wanted people to acknowledge the Tongva land they walked across and the danger over-consumerism posed to our environment.
My student government and I planned a Juneteenth march so that our students felt safe to participate in a peaceful protest.
After the PRIDE March in West Hollywood. It is important to get involved with your friends and build a community.
As part of a lobbying team in Sacramento, I was given the opportunity to sit down with my local representative, Assemblyman Gipson.
My lobbying team and I were being recognized for our work in Sacramento. We advocated for community college students, including two free years of college at CSU's after their time ar a JC.
Here is my first of two speeches I gave with Mayor Garcetti after he announced various environmental policies that aimed to change the landscape of Los Angeles. In this photo, he had just announced the largest solar farm in the country.
It is very important to get involved with local politics, even more so the Congress and Senate sometimes. Our local representatives make the decisions that affect our everyday lives. Here, I met Assemblyman Jones-Sawyer as he was running for re-election.
I am a fierce environmentalist. It is our duty to keep our place clean and safe. This was a Valentine's Day protest asking Mayor Garcetti to stop the potential bulldozing of Ballona Marsh in Marina Del Rey. It is important to hold local government accountable, so it was an honor to meet Senator Mitchell, as well.
