Please join us on Saturday, October 18th at Cedar Hill Park for a fun Halloween-themed Score-O format orienteering event.
Legend of the SCARE-O. Last year, two young orienteers didn't check back in from SCARE-O.
Now locals tell tales of these woods being haunted by a young Darth Vader and a Mandolorian.
Beware, use caution, and keep your wits about you as you try to collect as many controls as you can before time expires...
(And PLEASE, check back in when you finish so we aren't looking for you after the event)
This is a semi-mass start event. Participants will have ~3 hours to collect as many points as possible on the course.
Each control will have a different point value.
Each point is worth the number of points listed. (1 =1, 18=18, 27 =27, - total possible points 377)
Highest total points wins, and ties will be broken by fastest time.
Finish Time is recorded when punching control #27.
If you are late (past the cutoff time) 50 points will be deducted per minute late. (ie, late = -50 points, 1 minute past - 100 points etc)
Controls will be punch controls. Paper punch cards will be provided with maps.
This version will include a map exchange.
