Good morning Year 7 English,
Thank you for joining me for Lesson 2 on our unit on narrative and creative writing. Using the below link please take a short little quiz to test prior learning and engage in new content. Please know that there is no expectation to get all or any of the answers correct. Please answer truthfully and with academic integrity. If you get all or some of the answers incorrect do not worry as by the end of this lesson you will have all the knowledge available to you to retake the quiz again and get 100%.
Once you have finished the quiz, please open Google slides via the below link. Please read through the instructions on slide 2 very carefully. I have provided an example for you using the character Jake Sulley from Avatar, if you find yourself getting stuck. Please do not forget to put your name on the slide so I can identify your individual work.
Please watch the below video. Make sure you pay attention to the terms 'indirect' and 'direct' characterisation and the five methods of characterisation listed as your next activity is based on this information.
Using padlet please provide a definition of indirect and direct characterisation. Please also list the five elements of characterisation. Please provide your name at the top. Do not copy and paster other's words. Make sure your work is your own original words.
Using the link, Make your own Hangman (hangmanwords.com), chose a word that relates to characterisation that you have learnt from this lesson and enter it into the hangman chose your own word section. Once you have entered the word you can send the link to your peer for them to guess what word you have selected. Make sure your peer sends you a link back for you to guess the characterisation word they chose!Â
