PRISON EDUCATION
2023-2025
METHEXIS
I'm one of the creators of METHEXIS, a transdisciplinary research-action project led by Domenico Brunetto and Andrea Di Franco in the San Vittore prison of Milan. The group of which I was part designed educational activities in logic and mathematics and tested indicators for the participation of inmates to forms of social life and peer support. A preliminary discussion of our teaching experience is published here. METHEXIS received the 2023 and 2024 Polisocial Award from Politecnico di Milano.
2020-2021
As a Maynard Adams Fellow for the Public Humanities, in Fall 2020 I devised and taught an introductory class in philosophy by mail correspondence for inmates in the prison of Butner, NC, while the prison was not accessible due to Covid-19. I'm currently turning the notes and exercises into an introductory textbook of philosophy for the general public.
