The Registrar’s Office will register each student for BUS 399 at 12-credit hours. This is a placeholder course which shows that you are still a full-time student at the University of Illinois. After we receive your transcripts from your host institution, the BUS 399 will still appear on your schedule but for 0 hours and the courses you take abroad will be transferred as BUS 388 for credit with appropriate sections, course number, and title for course articulations for degree requirements/credits.
Students will be automatically enrolled in LAS 291/292.
Students must enroll in a sufficient amount of courses directly at the host university to be considered a full-time student. This must convert to a minimum of 12 UIUC credit hours.
Students are also allowed to register for up to 1 UIUC online courses at no additional cost. This does not count toward your full-time status at your host university.
There are specific sections of some business courses available to Gies students, or you can choose anyone online course. You are not required to take any online courses while abroad, other than the mandatory LAS 291/292 course.
When you receive your E-Acceptance, it will give you access to the ISC Exchange Web Portal. In this portal you will be about to obtain the information on course registration and view the list of your approved courses.
You are required to give ten course choices when you complete the online application. You are strongly encouraged to not deviate off the list of ten course choices you provide. The Office of Academic Services reviews your course selections. It can be difficult to get into courses and you should pay close attention to how you are ranking your courses. Nanyang will check transcripts to make sure prerequisites have been met.
Please pay close attention to the add/drop period. Students are NOT allowed to drop a course once the deadline has passed and will be required to complete the course. Past participants have suggested that students drop by the international office to discuss registration changes due to the competitive registration process and seat availability.
