New Targeted Optical Imaging NanoProbes for Near-Infrared (NIR) Real-Time (RT) Image-Guided Surgery of Ovarian Cancer

Frontier Complex Research Project

ESTIMATED RESULTS

  • Development of novel CA based on phenothiazines and other molecules which exhibit NIR fluorescence, good biocompatibility and specific targeting for FRα of ovarian cancer cells.

  • Development of nanoparticles/nanoclusters/quatum dots (gold, graphene, etc.) exhibiting intrinsic luminescence/plasmon-enhanced molecular fluorescence in NIR and their testing as potential new CA in solid tissue-like phantoms.

  • In vitro/in vivo/ex vivo testing and validation of novel fluorescent CA against ovarian cell lines/ovarian xenografts/peritoneal fragments with metastasis in ovarian cancer.

  • Acquisition and pre-clinical validation of a NIR fluorescence imaging systems (fluorescence surgical microscope).

  • Building of database of NIR images recorded on animal organ and peritoneal fragments treated by novel CA.
