Danny Marr Perpetual Trophy

A highlight of the Zone 6 weekend 2018 was the honour of lining up as a Club within our zone and honouring Danny Marr as a Perpetual trophy was awarded in his name for the first time - the inaugural award given to Bridget Connelly.

Danny has been the mainstay of Nambour PC over the past three decades. Through thick and thin, Danny has worked, encouraged, directed, advocated and motivated members of our club. If anything needed to be done, Danny was the man to either do the job or point you in the right direction to have the job done.

Danny has been a mentor and friend to countless Nambour members and his contribution to the club cannot ever be measured.

In considering Danny's retirement from the executive of our club (and Zone) we thought of lots of different types of retirement gifts, however nothing really seemed to fit.

After speaking to Danny's family it was decided that the most fitting way to thank him for his contribution to Pony Club is to keep his legacy alive through a Perpetual Trophy. Danny has a true passion for the sport of showjumping and this trophy is a fitting accolade for our Zone kids to strive towards. Although Danny has always had an immense pride for the achievements of NPC members, this pride is only exceeded by his pride in the achievements of all the Zone 6 kids.

We thank you Danny for the years of service you have given to Nambour and to Zone 6, your presence and leadership will be missed more than you can ever know.

We hope that you enjoy your Pony Club retirement and that you are able to enjoy more time with Desley and the family.
