Have you been using the LTA Toolkit in your school or setting? Support continued development of the toolkit by sharing your feedback.
The following resources can be used to support your engagement with the different elements of the toolkit. However, the toolkit has also been designed to add value to your existing school improvement processes.
This guidance has been developed to support local authority officers and practitioners in the use of the toolkit self-evaluation forms.
Benchmarks have been developed to provide a shared, structured framework that supports consistent and robust self-evaluation, alongside evidence-informed improvement in learning, teaching and assessment across schools and authorities. The benchmarks are aligned with HGIOS4? and describe practice across four levels; Satisfactory, Good, Very Good and Excellent, reflecting the HMIe framework, with a clear focus on impact on outcomes for learners. Whether used at individual, faculty, school or system level, they are designed to promote a shared understanding of expectations and support professional judgement. Moderation, professional dialogue and collaboration further strengthen their effective use.
Engagement with learner views will further enrich the self-evaluation process.
Share these statements with learners to capture views on learning experiences in your school.
A Microsoft Form version has also been developed for each LTA theme and can be accessed on the self-evaluation tool page for each theme.
Use this logic model and template to collaborate as a whole school/setting team to build a shared understanding of high-quality learning, teaching and assessment and improve learner outcomes.
