Have you been using the LTA Toolkit in your school or setting? Support continued development of the toolkit by sharing your feedback.
The Form for submitting self-evaluations has now closed whilst we work with Local Authorities to implement the new automated process. Please contact your Local LTA Contact for updates.
If your school recently submitted self-evaluations and are awaiting your data to be returned - please get in touch.
This self-evaluation tool will support you to reflect on where you are now, and progress made within improvement activity relating to leadership of learning, teaching and assessment. It will also help you and your team to identify appropriate next steps within your practice.
NEW!! Self-Evaluation Benchmarks
Benchmarks have been developed to provide a shared, structured framework that supports consistent and robust self-evaluation, alongside evidence-informed improvement in learning, teaching and assessment across schools and authorities. The benchmarks are aligned with HGIOS4? and describe practice across four levels; Satisfactory, Good, Very Good and Excellent, reflecting the HMIe framework, with a clear focus on impact on outcomes for learners. Whether used at individual, faculty, school or system level, they are designed to promote a shared understanding of expectations and support professional judgement. Moderation, professional dialogue and collaboration further strengthen their effective use.
Engagement with learner views will further enrich the self-evaluation process.
Based on statements from the practitioner self-evaluation for this theme, the following statements have been created to support schools in capturing views from learners.
Share the statements and ask your learners to write, draw or talk about their learning experience in school.
Find the full pack of learner self-evaluation statements for every theme in the Toolkit Implementation section.
A Microsoft Form has been created as an alternative option:
Access the self-evaluation form and create a copy for your school to use with learners and instantly access the data from responses.
Share a 'collect responses' link with your learners from your own copy.
The information you capture using your own copy is not stored centrally by the Northern Alliance.
