Where have the partners decided to go on holiday this summer?
X: Anna, why don't we go to the mountains for our holiday this summer?
Y: Why not Chris? We've been to the sea together many times in the summer, but never to the mountains. Wait, one of my friends decided to go on a safari. He said he was sure we'd love it too.
X: That sounds like an exciting summer trip, but I'd prefer something less organised, like getting to a hilltop on foot, for example.
Y: No problem. I'm fine with any place as long as it's far from the city.
X: There is no reason not to go hiking this way. We'll finally try something different from staying by the sea.
Y: All right then. But promise me for our next holiday after summer, you'll consider the safari.
X: I will.
Which painting is the guide showing to the visitors?
Dear visitors, now look at this portrait of a lady called Dreaming and let me point out some details you might miss. At the time this portrait was created, it was quite usual to paint ladies from rich families sitting in gardens or standing by a window in a room.
Interestingly enough, although standing was typical for indoor portraits, as this one is, the lady here is not seen like that. Another important detail is the position of her hands. In art history, all women who wanted to show that they were expecting a baby used to be painted with their hands on their bellies, both sitting and standing.
With this painting, however, we can be certain that the lady isn't pregnant because historians say that she couldn't have had her own children. So, one possible explanation for her hand position is that she wished to have a child and wanted to be painted like that. Perhaps then, we might have expected her hands under her chin, as that was the usual position that symbolised dreaming.
What was Helen's dog doing when Harry last saw him?
X: Hi.
Y: Hi Harry, what are you doing in this part of town?
X: I'm just coming back from the park. I met Helen and her new dog there by chance.
Y: Oh, I wanted to see them both yesterday at her house but the dog was sleeping in the bedroom and she didn‘t want to wake him up.
X: He's really cute. When I saw him last week, he was playing with a bone.
Y: Really, it must also be great fun to watch him playing with Helen's cat.
X: Yeah, it is. I've seen them playing together once. Look, if you want to see him being active, go to the park now. Helen was just teaching him how to fetch a stick there. It's not far from here.
Y: But I'm too busy now.
X: Oh, that's a pity, because otherwise he sleeps most of the time.
Y: Anyway, I'd love to see him playing with a cat
What does the photographer take pictures of nowadays?
I've been a professional photographer for more than 20 years now. I've always loved looking at clouds in the sky, so I ended up taking pictures of them in my early days as a photographer. After that, I was only taking pictures of rocks for some time. I loved how wild they looked.
Then, before moving my attention to trees, which has been the only topic of my work for the last few years, I was taking pictures of babies. You know, I started with my own kids when they were little and quite soon many other moms were asking me to take photos of their babies too. However, my favourite photos are from the time when I used to photograph rocks. I love my job.

X: Hey, Martin, what's up?
Y: Hey Jasmine.
X: You look very happy. You finally passed the driving test last Friday, didn't you?
Y: I did. And do you remember, Jasmine, what I wanted to do on the day I passed it? I promised myself I would tell mom and Dad that I'm gay.
X: I remember, so did you tell them?
Y: Yes, but I was so nervous that it took one more day before I told them.
X: And how did it go?
Y: They surprised me. From their reaction it was clear it wasn't news to them. They both handled the moment surprisingly well. They even said they were expecting me to tell them much sooner. I couldn't believe it. Anyway, I feel much more relaxed now.
X: Wow, Martin, I remember how surprised I was when you told me you were in love with John.
Y: Oh, I loved him so much and I hadn't told anyone about him apart from you, Jasmine. And if you hadn't told John, we would have never ended up together.
X: It's a pity you broke up and I didn't know that news for a week as I was the last person you told.
Y: I know, I'm sorry. Anyway, how's your love life?
X: You see, there's a boy in our rugby club. He's very handsome and I'm in love with him.
Y: I hope he's noticed you and you're in a relationship with him.
X: Well, I'll be happy once he's my boyfriend and I won't be single anymore. And how's Felix, your new boyfriend?
Y: He's great. I'm so glad we met. I was really down after John and I broke up, so I started hanging out with friends a lot, but meeting someone new seemed impossible. Then I read about a dating website, so I decided to give it a try and it actually worked. Eventually, I got in touch with Felix for our first date. We went to a bar where we met some friends. We all had a great time together.
X: Well, I prefer quiet, romantic places for dates, like walks in the park or sitting in a garden chatting.
Those are the best kinds of dates. I like them even more than restaurant dates. However, there isn't any better activity than eating out at a restaurant if you go on a date for the first time.
Y: I get your point.
X: Well, anyway, when are you going to introduce Felix to your mom and dad?
Y: He's coming to lunch this Sunday and I'm planning to tell them that he's actually my boyfriend. I didn't feel like telling them when they met him some time ago. I told them he was my new classmate.
X: Cool. You must text me and let me know how the lunch went.
Y: Or let's go to a restaurant on Monday and I'll tell you about it. Quarter to five?
X: 4:45? Let me check my diary. How about 5:15 instead? I have my piano lesson at 4:45.
Y: Sounds good.
X: See you then.
Y: OK.

Katz's Delicatessen in New York City.
We are now in front of this famous restaurant every New Yorker knows about. Katz's Delicatessen. This place is not only famous, it's also one of the oldest restaurants in the city. It served its first meal and drink to a paying guest in 1888. That was 126 years after the first New York restaurant was open to customers in 1762.
Katz's Delicatessen has always been situated here on Houston Street. Spelt H-O-U-S-T-O-N. The street is named after a founding father of the United States, statesman and lawyer.
Katz's Delicatessen is famous for its delicious food of extraordinary quality. Most of the recipes come from Eastern Europe. The recipe for Katz‘s beef sandwich is one of them, and it is in fact the food that Katz's Delicatessen is most famous for, even in Western Europe.
Now the owner of this restaurant is Jake Dell. Can you believe he was only 21 years old when he took charge of it? What a young owner! He's 34 now and is well known in the world of gastronomy. Mr Dell has agreed to come and say hello to us. He will surely recommend their desserts, which are also made according to traditional recipes. Jake likes to recommend pancakes as a dessert to first time visitors, but he himself likes cookies even more than pancakes.
The restaurant can also prepare food for various occasions, such as weddings. However, food for weddings is ordered less often than food for birthdays. No other occasion in people's lives makes them order food from Katz's Delicatessen more often.
All right, everyone, let's go inside and enjoy our dinner. It's 7:45 and we'll meet at 9:15 in front of the restaurant afterwards. So you have enough time. If you finish earlier, you don't have to spend your time waiting outside. You can go to the shop next to the restaurant. It sells candles. You can't buy those candles anywhere else as they are made there. Now let's go eat.

What does Arthur‘s new flower need to grow well?
X: Oh my God! What a beautiful new flower, Arthur. I wonder whether it needs a lot of sunlight.
Y: It definitely needs more shade than sunlight to grow well, Fiona.
X: Poor thing, I can't imagine living a life in the shade.
Y: I see. You know, this flower doesn't need much room either. Other flowers of mine require much more space. This one doesn't need anything else except to be watered properly.
X: Well, most of my flowers don't need much water but a lot of heat, so I make sure I keep them in a warm place and they have enough space to grow well.
Y: That's good to be aware of. Some of my other flowers need a lot of heat, too.
Why is Danny calling Caroline?
Hi, Caroline. It's Danny. Listen, darling, as I texted you earlier today, I'm coming home late tonight because of that party, but I've just had a chat with my colleagues over lunch and, apart from talking about the party, somebody mentioned very heavy rain and strong winds. I hadn't heard about it before. It's supposed to hit town at around 6.
I won't be home yet. I'll be at the party. You know, I accepted the invitation. Anyway, he flower pots and the garden furniture, all that needs to be brought inside or it's all going to be damaged. I'm sorry to tell you that I can't help you. But hey, you could ask Jessica, that very good friend of yours. You have her phone number in your new phone, don't you? I promise to be home as soon as the party's over.
Why is the girl looking forward to the family party this time?
Yesterday I asked George if he was coming to our family party. Of course he said yes. We always look forward to seeing our cousins and finding out how they are. These days, I just hope we'll avoid spending that time being arranged in front of Aunt Marge's camera. Her pictures are lovely, but it takes her so much time!
George doesn't mind though. As he was looking through her old photos recently, he said it was a shame that Grandpa Joe wouldn't be in the new ones. Well, I felt that too. As a kid, I found his stories boring, but now I'd give anything to hear them again. At least Grandma Susie will be there. I can't wait to hear everything she remembers about the old days. George hopes she'll bring something sweet. I've always looked forward to eating her cakes, just this time I'll have to give it up. I'm on a diet, you know, to look better in the photos.
Which tram goes directly from the girl's house to her music school?
X: Hi Dad. I've got a problem.
Y: What's up?
X: I just left home and I'm on my way to the piano lesson, but I took the wrong tram. I only realised it was not the 25 when I got to the railway station.
Y: Calm down, Soph. Are you at the station now?
X: Yes. Could you tell me which tram goes directly to my music school from here?
Y: The 26, I think. What does the sign say?
X: 36. There is no 26, Dad. Let me see. I can take the 36 to Market Square now and then change to the 26 which goes directly to my music school from the square.
Y: Or go around the corner to Hill Street and catch the 23. That one takes you directly to the music school.
X: Thanks, Dad. Next time I'll make sure to take the 25.
Y: If you don't want to change trams on your way from home to your music school, that's the only option.
X: I'm off to the 23. Bye.
