2024 04 09: The preprint entitled "ER-associated degradation by Doa10 restrains mitophagy in yeast" has been posted to bioRxiv.

2024 04 01: K.N. has been awarded a Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (A) (Publicly Offered Research).


<Fiscal year of 2023>

2024 03 22: The 2023 graduation ceremony was held. T.K., a member of our laboratory, received the doctoral degree as a representative of the graduating class.

2024 03 21: K.N. visited the Dr. Kimata's lab at NAIST.

2024 03 14: K.N., Y.T., C.K., M.K., M.O., and Y.K. attended the NCU life science seminar-IBS joint meeting at Tsumagoi Resort Sai no Sato in Kakegawa, Shizuoka.

2024 03 07: K.N. attended the 93rd yeast meeting at Kwansei Gakuin University in Nishinomiya.

2024 03 06: T.K., A.K., and N.M.'s last day in the lab. We'll miss you!!

2024 03 02: K.N. attended the 70th birthday party of Professor Toshiya Endo in Tokyo.

2024 02 15: A.K. defended a master's degree and received the best presenter award. Congratulations!!

2024 02 14: T.K. defended a doctor's degree. Congratulations!!

2024 02 14: Y.T. gave a talk about a novel yeast gene replacement technique at the research assistant presentation.

2024 02 09: Three fourth-year undergraduate students from our laboratory (C.K., M.K., and N.M.) defended a bachelor's degree. Congratulations!!

2024 02 01: The manuscript entitled "Role of the San1 ubiquitin ligase in the heat stress-induced degradation of non-native Nup1 in the nuclear pore complex" was accepted for publication at Genetics. This project was led by T.I., a graduate student in our lab. This is a joint research with labs at the Nagoya University and Fukuoka Women's University. Congratulations to all involved! 

2023 12 19: The manuscript entitled "Degradation of citrate synthase lacking the mitochondrial targeting sequence is inhibited in cells defective in Hsp70/Hsp40 chaperones under heat stress conditions" was accepted for publication at FEMS Yeast Research. Two graduate students (M.H. and T.K.) contributed to this project. Congratulations to all involved! 

2023 12 06: Two graduate students (A.K. and T.K.) gave poster presentations at the 46th Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan at Kobe Port Island. 

2023 09 08: Two undergraduate students joined the lab (Y.K. and M.O.). Member's page has been updated. Welcome! 

2023 08 30: Y.T. gave a poster presentation at the 56th Yeast Genetics Society of Japan at Niigata University.

2023 08 10: C.K. and M.K. passed the entrance examination for master course. Congratulations!!

2023 07 28: Eight rotation students finished their time in the lab. They purified recombinant proteins from bacteria and reconstituted the ubiquitination reaction in a test tube.

2023 04 15: Our manuscript entitled "Defective import of mitochondrial metabolic enzyme elicits ectopic metabolic stress" has been published in Science Advances. Four graduate students, T.K., A.K., Y.T.,  and M.H. in our lab joined this project. T.K. (co-first author) made an extremely important contribution to this project. This is a joint research with laboratories at Hyogo University, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Fukuoka Women's University, and Kyusyu University. Congratulations to all involved!!

2023 04 03: K.N. has been awarded a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research(B), a research grant from the Institute for Fermentation, Osaka, and a research grant from the Hori Sciences and Arts Foundation.

2023 01 20: The manuscript entitled "Metabolomics analysis of an AAA-ATPase Cdc48-deficient yeast strain" was accepted for publication at Heliyon. Congratulations to all involved!

2022 11 11: T.K. and T.I. gave poster presentations at the 95th annual meeting of the Japanese Biochemical Society.

2022 10 20: K.N. attended the Society for Biotechnology Japan, 74th Annual Meeting 2022. K.N. presented a talk at the symposium "Puzzle of Glycolysis Revealed by the Latest Metabolism Research-Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Otto Meyerhof’s Nobel Prize-".

2022 08 09: The manuscript entitled "Triacylglycerol lipase Tgl4 is a stable protein and its dephosphorylation is regulated in a cell cycle-dependent manner in Saccharomyces cerevisiae" was accepted for publication at Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications. This is a joint research with labs at the Nagoya University and Fukuoka Women's University. Congratulations to all involved!

2022 07 30: K.N. presented a talk to the ER stress meeting in Kyoto.

2022 02 24: Our manuscript entitled "Dot6/Tod6 degradation fine-tunes the repression of ribosome biogenesis under nutrient-limited conditions" was accepted for publication at iScience. This project was led by former grad students K.K., E.K., and Y.S. This is a joint research with labs at the Nagoya University and the Fukuoka Women's University. Congratulations to all involved!

2022 02 10: Three fourth-year undergraduate students from our laboratory (Y.I., A.K., and R.M.) defended a bachelor's degree. Congratulations!!

2021 12 30: Our manuscript entitled "A positive genetic selection for transmembrane domain mutations in HRD1 underscores the importance of Hrd1 complex integrity during ERAD" was accepted for publication at Current Genetics. Two graduate students, Y.T. and T.K. joined this project. This is an international joint research with the Brodsky Lab at the University of Pittsburgh and the Kamura Lab at the Nagoya University. Congratulations to all involved!

2021 11 03: K.N. presented a talk to the Science Partnership Event at the Nagoya City Science Museum .

2021 10 22: The manuscript entitled "SWIM8 is a myogenic protein that partly prevents C2C12 differentiation" was accepted for publication at Scientific Reports. This is a joint research with labs at the Nagoya University, the Fukuoka Women's University, and the Waseda University. Congratulations to all involved!

2021 06 29: K.N. organized the symposium "Life of proteins and beyond: the interface with metabolism" at the 73rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Cell Biology.  K.N. also chaired the workshop "Life of proteins".

2021 01 21: Our review entitled "Potential Physiological Relevance of ERAD to the Biosynthesis of GPI-Anchored Proteins in Yeast" was published in Int. J. Mol. Sci.

2020 07 31: Six rotation students finished their time in the lab. They purified recombinant proteins from bacteria and performed in vitro ubiquitination assay.

2020 06 18: Our lab moved to the TANABE-DORI campus.

2020 06 09: The 72nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Cell Biology (@Kyoto Miyako Messe) was held on the Web.
