We successfully conducted an immersive and engaging two-day technical and hands-on learning experience through the Banking Industry Audit Training Program with EY GDS, bringing together accounting educators and students for meaningful discussions on Banking Sector Accounting and Auditing, Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence in Banking Audit and Analytics, Power BI, financial analysis, and banking data analytics. The sessions provided participants with valuable industry insights, practical applications, and emerging practices, from understanding banking audit concepts to creating dashboards, visualizing banking data, and applying AI and BI tools to real-world scenarios.

We sincerely thank Ms. Cheline Mariz Go, Senior Manager, EY GDS Philippines, and the entire EY GDS team for generously sharing their expertise and facilitating an engaging learning experience. More than a technical training, the program was an opportunity to connect industry practice with accounting education—encouraging educators and students to embrace technology, strengthen analytical skills, and prepare for a future-ready profession and classroom. The 2026 NACPAE Metro Manila Regional Forum featured Hon. Gloria T. Baysa, PRC Board of Accountancy Member, who shared valuable insights on the CPA Licensure Examination, including the covered courses, revised Table of Specifications, and curriculum mapping recommendations in preparation for its implementation in October 2029.

Her discussion provided accounting educators with guidance on aligning academic curricula with the evolving requirements of the CPALE, strengthening examination preparedness and ensuring that accounting programs remain responsive to the changing demands of the profession.

The forum also featured Dr. Joy S. Rabo, Chair of the CHED Technical Panel for Accountancy, who led the curriculum mapping workshop. Emphasizing outcomes-based education, curriculum alignment, and compliance with current standards, Dr. Rabo guided educators in enhancing the quality and relevance of accountancy programs, reinforcing NACPAE’s commitment to advancing excellence in accountancy education.

We, in partnership with the Asian Institute of Management, successfully conducted our hybrid AIM Masterclass Workshop on August 27, 2026, bringing together accounting educators, accounting professionals, and key stakeholders united in their commitment to advancing the quality and relevance of accounting education in the Philippines. 

Centered on the theme of professional excellence and continuous improvement, the workshop provided a rich learning experience through insightful discussions on Quality Assurance in Accounting Education, Conflict Resolution in the Workplace, Inclusivity and Ethical Classroom Management, and Sustainability in the Workplace.

Participants gained valuable perspectives from distinguished speakers who shared expertise, practical strategies, and thought-provoking insights that empower educators and professionals to become effective leaders, ethical practitioners, and catalysts for positive organizational change.

More than a learning event, the forum served as a platform for collaboration, reflection, and the collective pursuit of excellence in teaching, professional practice, and community building.

The 1st Virtual General Membership Meeting of nACPAE brought together members for an insightful and engaging session. Ms. Angel Queen Samoraga, nACPAE Treasurer, presented the organization's financial position and performance, while Pres. Dyan Nicole Francisco shared the organization's roadmap, goals, and planned activities for the fiscal year. Committee members across various functional areas were also formally introduced.

The meeting culminated in a highly enriching discussion by Mr. Carlo Afable on effective communication strategies for accounting teachers, highlighting the principles of the Charismatic Classroom through purposeful body language, vocal techniques, organized explanations, and reducing cognitive overload to enhance learning outcomes.

Together, we continue to strengthen our profession, empower educators, and shape the future of accounting education.

The technical sessions of the Education Sector Day featured distinguished experts who shared timely insights on professional and academic development. Asst. Prof. Jyro Triviño opened the program with Under Pressure: Turning Stress into Success, encouraging participants to view challenges as opportunities for growth through resilience and a positive mindset. This was followed by Dr. Arnel Onesimo Uy, who discussed Writing for Publication: Crafting Journal-Ready Articles with Rigor and Integrity, emphasizing the importance of producing credible, high-quality research that meets the standards of scholarly publishing.

The final session, POV: The Accounting Educator's Promotion, Occupation, and Vocation, featured Dr. Florenz Tugas, Dr. Patricia Empleo, and Dr. Jose M. Ireneo, who explored the career progression, evolving roles, and deeper purpose of accounting educators. A panel discussion moderated by Dr. Henry Rufino enriched the exchange of ideas, while Ms. Lorenz Nicole Duna concluded the program by synthesizing the day's key takeaways and reaffirming the participants' shared commitment to excellence in accounting education.
