The Journey Chapter of the National African American Gun Association (NAAGA) is a community-driven organization dedicated to promoting firearm education, safety, and responsible ownership within the Richmond, Virginia area and beyond. As an official NAAGA chapter, we serve as a trusted resource for both new and experienced firearm owners, offering training, advocacy, and a welcoming environment for all members—regardless of background or skill level.
Founded to create a safe and inclusive space for African American gun owners, the Journey Chapter focuses on empowering our community through knowledge, skill development, and preparedness. We believe that responsible firearm ownership is more than just marksmanship—it’s about understanding the law, practicing safe handling, and building the confidence to protect yourself and those you love.
Our chapter provides:
Comprehensive Training & Education: From introductory safety classes to advanced marksmanship and tactical training.
Community Events & Networking: Opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and strengthen community bonds.
Advocacy & Awareness: Promoting the rights of law-abiding gun owners and encouraging active participation in legislative matters that affect our freedoms.
Mentorship & Support: Helping new members navigate their firearm journey with guidance from experienced and certified instructors.
Led by Chapter President Sean Banks and Chapter Vice President David Harris, the Journey Chapter is built on the principles of safety, community, and continuous growth. We take pride in creating an environment where members not only sharpen their skills but also contribute to a movement that champions self-reliance, education, and empowerment.
Whether you’re a first-time gun owner or a seasoned enthusiast, the Journey Chapter is here to walk with you every step of the way on your firearm journey because when we are trained, informed, and united, our community becomes stronger and safer.
