The missing link database is not a registry, nor is it affiliated with any registry.
The information in the database comes from breeders like you. We make no guarantee as to the accuracy of the information, and we know it is incomplete. We welcome your corrections and submissions. There are currently 3300+ animals in the database, going back to the Goodwood herd and even beyond.
Login and registration features are currently disabled. To search, enter at least 3 letters of an animal's name.
Click below to search the database - you will be taken to our back-end host on a different server. You may encounter occasional glitches and error messages, particularly on your first attempt. If your search returns a blank page, refresh and try again. The hamsters in the wheel are running as fast as they can.
Right now the database pages are ugly little pages. Some day maybe they will look pretty. For now we just hope they work. For now browsing on a phone or small tablet will not be a killer experience, and printing will also be a tad kludgy.
The database is designed to include photos of animals, but right now we have only a handful of photos. Once we have more photos a typical page will begin to look like the sample page below.
When viewing a pedigree, a colored background behind a name indicates an ancestor who appears more than once.
Colored squares in the bottom right corner under a name are called 'Marks' and can be used to indicate such genetic markers as 'blue eyes' or 'polled.' This feature is available in ndwarf but not yet turned on as we do not have the information to support it.
A 'vertical pedigree' includes full siblings.
Siblings includes both full and half (dam or sire) siblings.
A 'reverse pedigree' shows generations of offspring rather than ancestors.
