I like to use variety in my classes. To try and maintain consistency, I use a similar schedule and class structure each day but a wider variety of activities and assessments to differentiate for various students' learning styles and strengths. As such, most of my lessons contain some lecture component by a form of student exploration or demonstration.

Similarly, my assessments are usually a mix of traditional tests and quizzes as well as project, most of which have varying levels of writing components as well. In all cases, I like to provide a level of choice to students as well. On tests that usually looks like letting students chose which terms they will identify and/or which writing prompts they will answer. With projects, the level of choice and creativity expands further while still consistently assessing their knowledge and understanding of the material, as well as their investigating, communicating, and critical thinking skills.
