Family Farmall C

November 2014

This Farmall C has been in the family since 1950. The only overhaul was around 1975. At that time it was upgraded to a Super C including a water pump.

The past few years the C ran good but seemed to have some blow-by through the oil breather. It was not using any oil and power seemed adequate.

Upon droping the oil pan, you can see the engine is very clean!

Cylinders were still within specs, so it was decided to condition the cylinder walls and replace the rings and rod bearings.

While the tractor was split, we took the starter gear off and turned it around... and heating it on the wood stove made it slip right on! We also put in a rear main seal and clutch disk.

January 2014

Begin re-assembly

Earlier we sent the Cylinder Head out for reconditioning.

March, 2015

Arthur listening to fan bearing... wound up replacing the fan with new but upon inspection of the old one, it was probably okay.

April 2015

About $1000.00 of parts and it seems to run like new!

See it run!
