For this student film-scoring project, I composed and produced an original score for Woody’s restoration scene from Toy Story 2. Created in Logic Pro, the music combines orchestral instruments with subtle synth textures to capture the scene’s playful, delicate mood. Melodies, anticipation swells, and musical accents follow the on-screen action while leaving space for the original sound effects. I also completed the mixing and mastering.
*Footage and original sound effects belong to their respective owners. Music created by Madison Paige Gotcher (MysticalMattie).
Created over a four-week course, this project follows the trailer production process from character-theme mockups and spotting to a completed score and final audio mix. I composed and arranged the music, selected software instruments, planned tempo and meter changes, and edited and synchronized sound effects to picture. I then balanced the music, narration, and effects using processing and automation, and exported the finished trailer and audio stems.
*Animation and narration were supplied for the coursework; my contribution was the music and audio post-production.
Final project video demonstrating post-production audio workflow, including dialog, foley, sound effects, and music mixed to support a short scene.
Created in Ableton Live, A Quiet Goodbye explores custom synth design through an original composition in E minor. I designed the pad, bass, and lead sounds using Wavetable, combining soft, lingering textures with a deep bass foundation and a textured lead. Chord inversions and smooth voice leading connect the harmony, while changing drum patterns and short fills shape the energy before a quiet ending.
