The Special Actions Unit (UTK) is the strategic force of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM)
The UTK provides the PDRM with the highest level of tactical armed-response capability. It is an elite, well trained and equipped unit to apprehend armed criminals and conduct hostage rescue operations. It has formidable firepower, all-terrain mobility and is capable of helicopter-borne insertion. Besides dealing with highly dangerous criminals, UTK is also involved in risky protective security operations.

UTK's main roles are:
Fighting urban guerrillas, terrorist groups, groups of subversive and extremist organisations.
Assist the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in major criminal cases.
Conducting safety protection to local VIPs and foreign visitors if may be deemed necessary.
Other responsibilities as directed by the Commissioner of Police and the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
