DISTRICT POLICE

The District Police (DP) is the main frontline policing unit in PDRM. It conducts general policing duties and responding to '999' calls.

It is the largest unit within PDRM with 98 officers. There are 3 Police Districts that form up the whole unit. Namely, Dang Wangi, Cheras and Sentul.

To provide professional and quality services in protecting the country to ensure public safety, security and prosperity.

ROLES/FUNCTIONS

DP officers are trained to handle a wide array of incidents ranging anything from robberies to public order situations. They are also called upon to assist specialist units to support police operations. DP officers are also trained to conduct traffic stops and pursuit to ensure the roads of Malaysia are safe for all.
