Media Coverage & Censorship
This page is dedicated to showcasing all the articles related to the "My Name Matters" campaign. It’s a space to ensure that the hard work behind this initiative is recognized and visible, despite the DEI restrictions and the risks that come with speaking out. Due to these restrictions, much of the work has faced challenges in gaining public visibility, but we are committed to ensuring it is accessible. Here, you can find all the articles and updates that highlight the effort, creativity, and stories we’ve worked to share. Browse through the content below to explore the full scope of the campaign and the projects that brought it to life.
In addition, we are also sharing a folder of articles related to queer topics, previously published by Mercer University, just in case you want to explore more on the subject. These articles are included to offer further context and insight into important issues related to the LGBTQ+ community.
Due to DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) restrictions, the Den article concerning the "Hidden Threads" series has been "temporarily removed" or, ironically, "archived," rendering it inaccessible to the public. Although the article is not visible on the website, I am providing it here. I am deeply disappointed that the hard work put into this project is being obscured— the irony of this situation is apparent. This raises the question: Are we regressing to a time from two decades ago, and will Mercer University support its students as it has in the past? Unfortunately, I cannot say.
