Outcomes
A student:
› communicates and connects mathematical ideas using appropriate terminology, diagrams
and symbols MA4-1WM
› applies appropriate mathematical techniques to solve problems MA4-2WM
› recognises and explains mathematical relationships using reasoning MA4-3WM
› compares, orders and calculates with integers, applying a range of strategies to aid
computation MA4-4NA
TASK DESCRIPTION:
Students are to undertake research online and other sources design a poster with commutative associative and distributive properties, then prepare a five-minute presentation with using Power Points.
The presentation should include:
· Commutative Property and examples (positive number only)
· Associative Property and examples (positive number only)
· Distributive property and examples (positive number only)
· Evaluate how these three examples to aid mental computation
· Suggested at least 5 slides
Marking Guidelines of Poster ( /20):
Range
A student in this range:
15 - 20 (Excellent)
· Conduct extensive research from variety sources to define commutative, associative, distributive properties
· Makes a sophisticated analyse on how examples to aid mental computation
· Provides creative and colorful poster
10 –14 (Good)
· Conduct research from a range of sources to define commutative, associative, distributive properties.
· Makes a detailed analyse on how examples to aid mental computation
· Provides creative content of poster
5 - 9 (Satisfactory)
· Conduct research from some sources to define commutative, associative, distributive properties
· Makes a clearly analyse on how examples to aid mental computation
· Provides colorful content of poster
1– 4 (Progressing)
· Conduct research from limited sources to define commutative, associative, distributive properties
· Makes a vague analyse on how examples to aid mental computation
· Provides content of poster
