We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data when using our application Femininity.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
Account Information (optional): If you choose to create an account, we may collect your email address and password (securely stored and encrypted) to enable cloud backup and restore of your data.
User-Generated Health Data: Data you create locally on your device. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Menstrual cycle dates, period length, and cycle history
- Fertility status and ovulation tracking
- Pregnancy status, due date, and post-pregnancy status
- Logged symptoms such as cramps, mood, pain, discharge, nausea, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and others
- Body temperature (BBT), weight, sleep, and water intake
- Personal notes and activity logs
- Goals and preferences (e.g. trying to conceive)
If you enable account sync, this data will be uploaded to secure cloud storage.
In-App Feedback: If you submit feedback through the App, the text content along with your app version, device platform, and submission timestamp are stored in our Firebase Firestore database to help us improve the App.
b. Information Collected Automatically
Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash-related information (such as device model, operating system version, and crash logs) to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
Usage Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized information about how you use the App (e.g. screens visited, buttons tapped, feature usage) to help improve the user experience. This data does not include personally identifiable content you enter into the App. You can disable analytics collection at any time in the App settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the App's features.
- Fix errors and improve stability.
- Understand how the App is used to guide future improvements.
- Enable optional account-based backup and restore.
- Power the AI health assistant feature.
- Review in-app feedback you choose to submit.
3. Data Storage & Security
Local Storage: Most of your data remains stored locally on your device unless you enable account sync.
Cloud Storage: If you enable sync, your data is stored securely in Firebase Cloud Storage and Firestore, linked to your account.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — for crash reporting.
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — for anonymized usage analytics.
- Firebase Authentication, Cloud Storage & Firestore (Google LLC) — for account login, cloud data sync, and feedback storage.
- Google Generative AI — Gemini (Google LLC) — powers the in-app AI health assistant (chatbot). When you use the chatbot, certain health context data is sent to Google's Generative AI API to generate a response. This data includes your current cycle phase, cycle and period length, last period date, logged symptoms for the current day, and pregnancy or post-pregnancy status (if applicable), alongside your chat message. This data is transmitted to Google's servers to generate your answer and is subject to Google's AI data usage policies. We do not use this feature to store or sell your health data.
- Google Sign-In (Google LLC) — optional authentication service.
- Apple Sign-In (Apple Inc.) — optional authentication service.
You can read Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Apple's privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
5. Your Choices
- You can use the App without creating an account; in that case, your data stays only on your device.
- You can disable analytics collection in the App settings.
- You can choose not to use the AI chatbot feature, ensuring no health data is sent to Google's Generative AI service.
6. Account and Data Deletion
Delete Account & Cloud Data: You may delete your account and all associated cloud-stored data directly from within the App by going to Settings → Delete Account and Data. Once deleted, your account and personal cloud data cannot be recovered.
Delete Local Data: You may delete local data by uninstalling the App from your device.
Partial Data Deletion: You have the option to delete only cloud data, your account with cloud data, or only local data. You can also modify your information directly within the App.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us.
