It is our great pleasure to host the 69th Annual Meeting of the Mycological Society of Japan on May 17th (Saturday) and 18th (Sunday), 2025, at Chiba University’s Nishi-Chiba Campus. This will be the third time the university has hosted this event, following the 35th meeting in 1991, led by Professor Makoto Miyaji, and the 50th meeting in 2006, led by Professor Akira Suzuki.
We have strengthened our exchanges with the Mycological Society of America by hosting a Japan-U.S. joint symposium last year in conjunction with the 2024 Mycological Society of America Annual Meeting. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Japan-U.S. Joint Mycological Society Annual Meeting, which was first held in Hawaii in 2005. We also regularly hold joint symposiums with South Korea, the most recent of which took place in Korea in 2021. To further promote international exchange, we will be hosting a Japan-U.S. and Japan-Korea international joint symposium on Friday, May 16th, the day before the annual meeting.
Together with members primarily from Chiba Prefecture, we aim to make this conference a meaningful experience. We sincerely hope that many researchers will participate and take advantage of this valuable opportunity for academic exchange.
