Main Session Praise Pit
The Pit is a dedicated space for students to engage in high-energy worship by jumping (straight up and down), dancing and celebrating together. However, to maintain a safe and uplifting environment, it's essential that we work together to ensure order and respect for one another.
All students and leaders must follow the guidelines below. Failure to do so may result in individuals or the entire group losing their privilege of using The Pit
Students should calmly walk to the designated area, no running or rushing the stage.
Nothing should be thrown onto the stage or at anyone on the stage
Youth leaders or adult workers must accompany their students to The Pit to actively monitor their behavior
Pushing, shoving or any form of unwanted/inappropriate touching is not permitted.
If you witness behavior that could endanger students, take action by addressing it or removing students from the situation.
If The Pit becomes unsafe due to lack of cooperation, the privilege to use it will be revoked for the remainder of the week.
Power Tracks are breakout sessions for students (and are required attendance) featuring topics important to teenagers today. We've recruited trusted partners to teach each one. A full list of Power Tracks, descriptions and locations are available in the student app and the conference magazine.
Youth conference is divided into color groups. Your name tag color shows your group. These groups arrive at lunch in 15 minute increments. The order and entry time for colors rotate each day and are listed under the daily schedule in the student app and the conference magazine. While waiting for your time for lunch, your group should utilize Huddle Time. This is a time for you to have additional youth group time, or meet with group leaders. You can choose to visit the Momentum Store or enjoy Quad activities during this time as well. Your group should NOT line up inside the student commons before their designated time. This will keep wait times for lunch down and give you more time with your groups!
Students are expected to stay within the campus boundaries, as outlined in the Momentum Magazine campus map.
Note: This includes walking across the street to the gas station adjacent to campus.
All vehicles must be registered with an IWU/Momentum parking pass.
Student vehicles must remain parked for the entire week.
If any adult takes a student off campus for anything not related to Momentum Community Ministry, the outing is not covered by any insurance through Momentum Youth Conference or Momentum Ministry Partners. It must be covered by the individual’s home church or liability insurance.
No students are permitted to leave campus after the 11:30 p.m. curfew time, including riding in a vehicle with a youth leader.
DORM HOUSING
Guys and girls are not allowed in each other’s dorms at any time. This includes the lobby area of a dorm.
Evening curfew is 11:30 p.m. (Exception: if a youth group breakout session goes past 11:30 p.m., then male youth workers must walk with their male students and female youth workers with their female students directly back to their respective dorms.)
Quiet time/lights out is 1:00 a.m., at which time everyone should be in their own hallway (preferably in their own room).
The lobby will remain open only to youth leaders needing to meet with a student.
University cameras in the dorm lobby and alarms on back doors will be activated during the week.
Dorm Furniture:
When checking out at the end of the week, all dorm furniture (including mattresses) must be returned to its original setup, as it was when you checked in. Otherwise, the university may apply extra charges that will be passed on to your church.
Lost Key Policy:
There is a lost key fee charged by the university for any keys not turned in by Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Check-Out.
If your key is missing during the week, check the Lost and Found in the Momentum Youth Conference Office.
