Children and Adolescent Survivors Initiative (CASI)

In 2019, the global CP and GBV Areas of Responsibility (AoRs), Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)/Norwegian Capacity (NORCAP), and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) continued to implement the Comprehensive Coordination Support to Child and Adolescent Survivors of Sexual Abuse in Emergencies Initiative (CASI).

The objective of the first phase of CASI was to improve the quality of and access to services for child and adolescent survivors of sexual abuse in emergencies, working through the CP and GBV coordination mechanisms. CASI provided sustained support in four pilot countries (Iraq, Myanmar, Niger and Sudan). Reports, findings and lessons learned from the pilot countries are available here.

In 2020, CASI is moving into its second phase. Sustained support will be provided to two additional pilot countries – South Sudan and Yemen – and beyond, through remote and in-country support (see menu of options).
