For this project we were tasked on creating a presentation about emerging technologies. So things like Self-Driving Cars, Bitcoin, Delivery Drones, etc.
Virtual reality has definitely become more popular in recent years. VR enables us to insert our very being into a virtual world through the use of a headset. Right off the bat this has its benefits; Communication, Entertainment, Job opportunities. That's not to say it doesn't have its downsides, its important to take the time to step away from the headset as over exposure could lead to some minor health problems.

Virtual reality is a very versatile and educational tool that (much like the internet) can help unite people across the world. Think of it as an internet that you can physical insert your presence into.
