I will be receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education with honors in Secondary Education: Comprehensive English 7-12 and Special Education PreK-12 with a minor in Literature and Culture from Pennsylvania Western University - Edinboro (formerly Edinboro University of Pennsylvania) in Edinboro, Pennsylvania.

ENGL 4310 Literary Criticism Theory
(Spring 2024)

This course provided detailed instruction on the schools of literary criticism and their applications to varying texts. It included in depth analysis of stories from varying perspectives and how a different perspective on a text, or any real-world topic, can change the entire meaning of it.

ED 2333- Technology in Teaching and Learning
(Fall 2023)

This course provided detailed instruction on the use of technology in the classroom. It provided instruction on the usage of Apple, Microsoft, and Google products; the usage of learning management systems, including but not limited to Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and Canvas; and the integration of technology in diverse learning environments.

COMJ 1010 Public Speaking Honors
(Spring 2023)

This honors course provided instruction on both planned and extemporaneous speaking in front of others. This provided instruction on informative, ceremonial, persuasive, and group presentations. The honors project for this course involved an in-depth search into media and communication in various forms throughout history.

SPED 4070 Classroom Administration, Collaboration, and IEP Development (Fall 2025)

This course provided detailed instruction on the process of developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). It also includes in depth information on collaborating with families in the IEP development process.

ED 3700 ELL Foundations
(Summer 2024)

This course provided detailed instruction research-based English Language Learner (ELL) teaching and learning methods in K-12 mainstream classrooms. The major theories of second language acquisition will be reviewed and their implications for the second language classroom will be discussed.

ENGL 4700 Teaching Writing
(Fall 2025)

This course provided detailed instruction on the process of writing and the teaching of the process of writing. It included many workshops in writing and larger written projects to highlight one's understanding of grammar and the writing process.

ED 3300 Learning Environments
(Spring 2024)

This course provided the opportunity to explore different instructional methodologies and classroom management plans, from the physical set-up of the classroom, classroom rules to procedures for dealing with problem students in your classroom. It includes issues related to adolescent development and school safety. This class included field observation in which aspiring educator can observe first-hand classroom management.

SPED 4040 Transition Plan and Instruction
(Fall 2025)

This course provided detailed instruction regarding special education programs for senior high school students as well as those persons who reside in the community. Emphasis was placed on vocational preparation and training. Specific techniques for task analysis of jobs, daily living skills, and social adaptation constitute a major portion of this course.

ENGL 4300- Advanced Studies in Topics and Authors (Individualized Education)
(Spring 2025)

This course allowed me to do in-depth research and analysis of novels and their context in society. During this independent study, I conducted research on using banned books to teach culture. The impact of book banning on students and schools was also considered in this course.

SPED 3055 Fundamentals of Structured Literacy for Special Educators
(Spring 2025)

This course focused on developing in-depth fundamentals needed by special educators to deliver sound structured literacy instruction to individuals with exceptionalities through the exploration of speech to print foundations and the reading brain. There will be an emphasis on enhancing the students’ competencies in phonics and structural analysis.

As a field student, I was invited to take part in an ACT 80 In-Service day. I took part in a 7-12 wide training on Trauma Informed Care and Practices put together by Penn State Behrend Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Community Outreach, Research, and Evaluation.
