CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

Nightly Homework

As a part of our Kindergarten Homework Policy, all kindergarten students should be involved in 20 minutes of reading each night. We will also begin to send short sight word lists as students become ready. Please be sure to review these words with your child and sign the bottom of the list when they can quickly read each word.

Agenda

Your child will bring home an agenda each night. These agendas serve as our primary means of communication between school and home. We may send special notes or other items home by clipping them to your child's agenda. It is very important to check your child's agenda each night and sign/initial beside the current date. Your child's teacher will also initial the agenda each day at school. Please use these agendas to record nightly reading and note any transportation changes. As part of our school policy, we cannot accept transportation changes via phone or email.

Tuesday Folder

Your child will receive a Tuesday Folder for bringing home weekly work and important messages. This folder has two pockets: one for items to be brought back to school, and one for items to be left at home. Each week, please empty the "Leave at Home" pocket and look over the materials on the "Bring Back" side. There is a place on the inside of the folder to sign. Each Tuesday, please sign the folder and return it to school in your child's backpack the following day.
