History

The Midwest Women Chemists Retreat (MWCR) is modeled after an annual event in the Puget Sound region that was founded by Prof. Robbyn K. Anand while a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle in 2013. This event has met with increasing success, expanding to include women from all areas of science and from the entire Pacific Northwest over the past 4 years. The first year of the MWCR was in 2017.


2017 Retreat

The first Midwest Women Chemists Retreat was held on August 4-6 at the Christian Conference Center in Newton, IA.


2016 Retreat

The fourth Pacific Northwest Women in Science Retreat was held on July 8-10 at Camp Magruder, Rockaway Beach, OR.


2015 Retreat

The third Puget Sound Women Chemists Retreat was held May 15th-17th, 2015 at Pack Forest Conference Center. For more information about the Puget Sound Women Chemists Retreat, please visit the Google site.


2014 Retreat

The second Puget Sound Women Chemists Retreat was held May 30th to June 1st, 2014 at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC.


2013 Retreat

The first Puget Sound Women Chemists Retreat was held May 2-3, 2013 at Pack Forest Conference Center.
